Chiari Malformation is a serious neurological disorder where the bottom part of the brain, the cerebellum, descends out of the skull and crowds the spinal cord, putting pressure on both the brain and spine and causing many symptoms.
Our Founder is a brain surgery survivor who had surgery due to Chiari Malformation.
This is often known as the "silent disability," because a person doesn't know they have it unless they are symptomatic and/or from an MRI or cat scan. The more we become aware of disabilities that effect our communities the better we can be to find cures.
