Black Men Teach
Education remains one of the black community's most enduring values. It is sustained belief that freedom and education go hand and hand, that learning and training are essential to economic quality and independence.
This quarter's title is: Stereotyped with an emphasis on the verb "defy". Defy (verb)- openly resist or refuse to obey. To make (an action or quality) almost impossible. To Challenge, defeat.
One stereotype centers around Black women/ men not teaching their children or not wanting to teach as a profession. To defy that, We teach and We teach through the lens of our culture!
